Sustainability

Making more of what already exists

Spacement is a purely digital marketplace. We run no logistics, ship nothing, and operate no data centres of our own. Our contribution lies in the model itself – and in deliberately lean technology.

What defines our model

01

Use existing spaces

Spacement connects people to spaces that already exist and often sit unused – from a free parking spot to a vacant floor. Value comes from what is already there.

02

Fully digital

Everything happens online. We process no rental payments, keep no warehouses, and ship no goods.

03

Lean technology

A deliberately compact architecture instead of oversized cloud stacks – images are compressed and content is served efficiently through a content delivery network.

Infrastructure partners

The technology behind Spacement is provided by established companies that report publicly on their sustainability. The figures below come from those providers; we reproduce them here and link to their original reports.

Hosting & servers

According to our hosting provider Hostinger, its data centres run on 100% renewable electricity, and decommissioned hardware is reused or recycled in a circular process.

Delivery & security

Delivery, caching, and protection run through Cloudflare’s global network, which reports continuously on the energy efficiency and emissions of its infrastructure.

In concrete terms

  • 1Uploaded images are automatically compressed with minimal quality loss – reducing the amount of data transferred.
  • 2Content is delivered through a content delivery network that avoids repeated transfers and shortens the distance data travels.
  • 3We avoid unnecessarily complex infrastructure and keep operations as resource-efficient as possible.

We deliberately avoid blanket environmental promises. This page describes our business model and reproduces our providers’ sustainability figures with their sources. Third-party figures reflect the respective provider’s status; those providers are responsible for their accuracy and timeliness.
